The Everlasting Pain
Struck by lightning
Emotions turning cold
Boiled and frozen on the inside
Like a sword has divided my body
Chasing your ghosts
While I follow your shadow
Trailing my own silhouette
As I march deeply into darkened space
The world around me starts to tick slowly
Like a busted clock, ticking back and forth
The everlasting pain
I am dependant on you
As if you feed me like my breakfast
Wake me up for the morning
But I can’t rely on you to put me to sleep
Like dust, on an un-cleaned table
You allow me to swallow my own misery
As if you don’t care
As if I am a puppet
The everlasting pain
As I sit here suffering
You think I don’t feel pain?
Like a stuffed toy
With my eyes sewn on as if I can’t see?
Sitting there for your decoration
Until one day you decide it doesn’t look good
Place me in your closet
Keep me on standby
I’ll wait for the day you decide to use me again
The everlasting pain
As I try to run away
From this solo war
Which I face my own enemy
Hit by my own bullet
Then turning around to see your staring face
The most beautiful face I have seen
Haunts me like a sly spirit
If only you loved me
If only we felt the same
If only I never had this everlasting pain.
